How
do I upload my artwork to the Forum? |

To upload artwork to the forum, all you need to do (once you are
posting a new message) is to click on the BROWSE button to choose
the desired image and press OK and then click on Add Attachment.
After posting the message the artwork will be displayed.

Which
file format do I save my artwork as? |
| |
JPG. This format is best suited for uploading artwork and to reduce
file size. Make sure the image is set to 72 dpi.

do I retrieve my username and password once I sign up? |

The username and password for each tutorial will be sent by email
to each student once you sign up. If you have not received your
username and password please email
me.

have a scanner. How do I scan my artwork? |
| |
For best results, scan your artwork at 700 dpi to pick up all the
value transitions of the pencil. You will then take the image and
reduce it to 72 dpi before uploading it.

have a digital camera. Where and how should I take the photograph
of my artwork? |
| |
It is best recommended if you take the picture of your artwork on
a flat surface with natural sunlight. Do not use a flash as it will
drown out your artwork.

have a 35mm SLR camera. How do I get my photographs as a digital image? |

You can take your film to any photography store and request pictures
to be saved to a CD

What
will I learn by taking these tutorials? |
| |
You will learn a ton of valuable information in how to achieve realism
in your pencil drawings not to mention how to properly shade, blend
with tortillions, draw fur, eyes, nose, mouth, hair, shiny objects
and a whole lot more!

versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape is recommended? |

Even though you can still view the website and tutorials using the
lower versions of I.E. and Netscape it is strongly recommended you
upgrade to the latest browser to get the best viewing.

Do
I need to set my monitor resolution to anything particular for better
results? |

The website can be viewed at 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. For a more
close up of the tutorials it would be recommended to set your monitor
resolution at 800 x 600.

supplies do I need inorder to take these tutorials? |
| |
Supplies are listed on each tutorial section or you can view the
art supplies section.

Can
I print the tutorials to my printer? |

Absolutely! Once you are in the tutorials
just right click with your mouse and then choose Print. Make sure
you se the page orientation set to landscape.

if I'm going away for a couple of weeks on vacation. Do I need to
draw an art piece by the end of each week? |

No, that is the great benefit
of an online course. You work at your own pace. This online course
runs for a certain time period but lots of time is allotted for the
tutorials.

is the Flash Player? And why do I need to download it? |
| |
According to Macromedia, 97% of internet-enabled desktops worldwide
are installed with the Macromedia Flash Player. Macromedia Flash is
an application for developing rich content. If you have surfed on
the internet you will, no doubt, have ran across a website with animated
text, images or interface using the flash player.
Macromedia Flash Player is pre-installed in several web browsers and
on many computers. It is included in Windows XP (including all new
Windows XP computers) and Apple Macintosh operating systems; Netscape
Navigator, and America Online. |

Inorder to upload your artwork to the discussion forum for critiquing,
it is recommended that you have a photo editing software. This can
be anything such as CorelPhotopaint, PaintShopPro, Photoshop Elements,
and Adobe Photoshop just to name a few. Most scanners or digital
cameras will come with such software. You just need to be able to
save your images as a jpg file and to reduce the dpi to 72 dpi.
