ARTWORK IN PROGRESS

  STEP ONE
Prior to this first step I have layed out the coloured pencils I will be using so that I can quickly have access to them. I may not know all of the pencils I will be using as I may choose a different colour as I go but I have the main colours choosen.

After drawing my subject very lightly onto my paper, I started the background with different shades of green with adding added pressure so that it becomes burnished with my final layer. I also started the pumpkin off with a light wash of yellow-orange

   STEP TWO
As you will see, I have done a lot since the first step above. I have built up my oranges on the pumpkin and then moved into painting the Hallowe'en custom on the baby.

As you will see, I have left the baby's face for last so that I'm able to see the values more clearly against the surrounding colour values. This will make it easier than if I had done this stage first.
   STEP THREE
In this step, I finished the hood and added more 'greens' into the inside of the hood as well. I also started a little bit of the grey rim around the hood.

The next area I started working on was the background grass and hanging leaves to the right. This took some time.
