Beginners and more experienced artists will learn step-by-step to create realistic coloured pencil drawings by artist, Melissa Schatzmann. With still life, flowers, pets and facial features as your subject matter, you will take part in detailed tutorial instruction and demos.

Learn professional techniques for layering, stroking, burnishing, scumbling, selecting colours, and creating fur and skin tones. An informative online discussion forum will provide you with a classroom environment to learn drawing techniques, while critiques will offer support, suggestions and improvements.

At the completion of this online course, you will have a portfolio of realistically detailed coloured pencil drawings.

Drawing Supplies:

  • Prismacolor Pencils (see sample list below)
  • Acid-Free Paper suitable for coloured pencils (see sample list below)
  • Kneaded Eraser
  • Vinyl White Eraser
  • HB or 2B Pencil
  • Kleenex
  • A small sheet (8.5 x 11 or smaller) of Tracing Paper or Mylar Film. You can even use a piece of lightweight computer paper.
  • Stylus or hard pencil (7H, 8H, 9H)

RECOMMENDED PAPER
